Political Name Calling

I'd love to know why it is that whenever you don't agree with something in the right wing agenda, you're called a terrorist sympathizer?

I've noticed that even after all this time, the troubles this country has and will continue to have for years to come, the right wing agenda is still alive and thriving.  This country can't really get much worse.  We have a president who has broken the law numerous times and yet is still in office.

The conservatives and republicans made everybody crazy over a sex act of Bill Clinton.  Ok, he was wrong in lying about it, but they were wrong in even going that over it.  It's not against the law and was something that his wife and family should have been dealing with, not Congress and other officials. Yet we can have a president who lies to the American people about why we went to war with Iraq.  First it was weapons of mass destruction, then something else, then finally Iraqi freedom.  What a bunch of bullshit.  I don't remember hearing the Iraqi people begging for help.  Let's face it, Hussein was a horrible person.  Nobody would argue that.  Not our responsibility alone though was it?  Now the US is threatening to take pre-emptive action with other countries too.  Where exactly do they plan on getting the military strength and finances for this?

We have the probl3em of domestic spying that still really has not been dealt with properly.  This is an issue that should concern everyone.  The excuse "I don't care, I haven't done anything" just won't work.  They can use any excuse they want at this point to do WHATEVER they want.  Think they won't throw you in jail for speaking out if you find something wrong with this administration?  Think again.  People who have the right to protest have been harmed for no other reason that this is how this administration works.  I read story recently about a woman who was arrested for putting up posters.  http://www.freepress.org/departments/display/18/2006/1800  Yes, she was wrong in hanging the posters.  So were the people who arrested her and the people who handled her court case.  What a violation of someone's rights.  OVER POSTERS.

There's just way too much to even bother to try and cover here.  Obviously I understand no system is perfect.  It just really bothers me that these right wing conservatives think they can just change the system in order to fit their needs.  They have gone with redistricting in order to get what they want.  They have tried to change rules and laws in order to get what they want.  They have tried to work against our Constitution to get what they want.  Then they threaten to kill people when they don't get what they want.  It's disgusting.

They actually arrested animal activists recently who posted the personal information about medical researchers.  Obviously any idiot can see that's just not right.  It's a threat to the personal safety of that person and their family.  They should have been punished for that, no doubt about it.  However, have they ever tracked down and arrested anyone involved with the anti-abortion crazies?  Of course not.  They post the same things on their sites, even go so far as to X out the names of those doctors killed, and nothing happens to them.  Conservatives claim it's their right to free speech.  No, it's not.  It's the same thing.  If you're advocating murder, then you've gone beyond rights to free speech.

This country needs to wake up and face reality.  I'm not a terrorist sympathizer just because I use my rights to speak out against what is obviously wrong.  More people need to start stepping forward in order for change to occur.  It's not good enough to just sit back and say you know it's wrong.  Stand up and be counted among those who are trying to make positive changes.

If you think it can't happen to you, THINK AGAIN.
