I'd love to know why it is that whenever you don't agree with something in the right wing agenda, you're called a terrorist sympathizer?
I've noticed that even after all this time, the troubles this country has and will continue to have for years to come, the right wing agenda is still alive and thriving. This country can't really get much worse. We have a president who has broken the law numerous times and yet is still in office.
The conservatives and republicans made everybody crazy over a sex act of Bill Clinton. Ok, he was wrong in lying about it, but they were wrong in even going that over it. It's not against the law and was something that his wife and family should have been dealing with, not Congress and other officials. Yet we can have a president who lies to the American people about why we went to war with Iraq. First it was weapons of mass destruction, then something else, then finally Iraqi freedom. What a bunch of bullshit. I don't remember hearing the Iraqi people begging for help. Let's face it, Hussein was a horrible person. Nobody would argue that. Not our responsibility alone though was it? Now the US is threatening to take pre-emptive action with other countries too. Where exactly do they plan on getting the military strength and finances for this?
We have the probl3em of domestic spying that still really has not been dealt with properly. This is an issue that should concern everyone. The excuse "I don't care, I haven't done anything" just won't work. They can use any excuse they want at this point to do WHATEVER they want. Think they won't throw you in jail for speaking out if you find something wrong with this administration? Think again. People who have the right to protest have been harmed for no other reason that this is how this administration works. I read story recently about a woman who was arrested for putting up posters. http://www.freepress.org/departments/display/18/2006/1800 Yes, she was wrong in hanging the posters. So were the people who arrested her and the people who handled her court case. What a violation of someone's rights. OVER POSTERS.
There's just way too much to even bother to try and cover here. Obviously I understand no system is perfect. It just really bothers me that these right wing conservatives think they can just change the system in order to fit their needs. They have gone with redistricting in order to get what they want. They have tried to change rules and laws in order to get what they want. They have tried to work against our Constitution to get what they want. Then they threaten to kill people when they don't get what they want. It's disgusting.
They actually arrested animal activists recently who posted the personal information about medical researchers. Obviously any idiot can see that's just not right. It's a threat to the personal safety of that person and their family. They should have been punished for that, no doubt about it. However, have they ever tracked down and arrested anyone involved with the anti-abortion crazies? Of course not. They post the same things on their sites, even go so far as to X out the names of those doctors killed, and nothing happens to them. Conservatives claim it's their right to free speech. No, it's not. It's the same thing. If you're advocating murder, then you've gone beyond rights to free speech.
This country needs to wake up and face reality. I'm not a terrorist sympathizer just because I use my rights to speak out against what is obviously wrong. More people need to start stepping forward in order for change to occur. It's not good enough to just sit back and say you know it's wrong. Stand up and be counted among those who are trying to make positive changes.
If you think it can't happen to you, THINK AGAIN.
Read some sad news today. Dana Reeve, wife of the late Christopher Reeve has died of lung cancer. Was very upset reading that, knowing that their 13 year old has lost both of his parents so young. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
I promised myself that I would start a new journal and post more frequently, but so far, I haven't been doing that. I promise to try and keep up with it more often. Most recently, I've been suffering from hip pain from an unknown cause. Last week, I was in bed almost all day every day. So far, it's been a bit better this week. Doctors are so useless. I went and had everything checked out, and still no answers.
The weather has been getting better in this area, which is a nice change. Can get started on some outside work soon as long as my body cooperates. Spring is hopefully really just around the corner.
Have been trying to keep up with the political news too. Every day it seems I get more and more angry with this administration. Things keep getting worse. Based on the way Congress lets the president have pretty much whatever he wants, I don't expect it to get any better. How could they call for impeachment for Clinton and yet be oblivious to anything that is going on now? It sickens me how quickly this country is going downhill, and we still have two more years to go. I hope this country can make it that long without destorying itself. I CALL FOR IMPEACHMENT OF BUSH NOW. Fortunately, I'm not the only one out there. Let's get this administration out of office so someone who is hell-bent on destroying everything people have worked for all their lives can take charge.

Hi everyone. Hope that all the people who were hit by the snowstorm on the Northeast coast are doing well. Fortunately our power stayed on, but I feel for those who lost power during the storm. I've been in those situations, and I hope that all the power is restored quickly.
Hard to believe the amount of snow in Central Park over the weekend. NYC actually almost shut down from what I've been told. We had almost 24" inches based on my measurements outside the house. Pretty horrible when you have to shovel that yourself. It took most of yesterday and part of this morning but it's finally done.
As I'm writing this, I can hear snow sliding off the roof and hitting the ground outside. I know it's coming when I hear the slide, but I still jump when it hits the ground. It sounds extremely loud where I'm sitting.
So that's the latest so far. Managed to watch some good movies over the weekend while it snowed. Even watched March of the Penguins even though I was afraid it might be unpleasant at some points. It did have it's upsetting moments, but not as bad as I expected.
Special thoughts and prayers to my friend Tony, who was in accident up in Maine. Speedy recovery hun.
If anyone wants to share their snow stories, feel free to post all about them.
I just managed to watch a movie called "FOR THE LOVE OF A CHILD" with Peri Gilpin and Teri Polo. It was about the two women, Sara O'Meara and Yvonne Fedderson who founded Childhelp USA. For anyone who isn't familiar with it, it's a non-profit organization that helps abused and neglected children and their families.
I didn't think much would be shocking anymore, but it still is. I can't imagine how any parent, or any other person for that matter, could abuse a child. According to their statistics, 4 children die every day in this country as a direct result of abuse. That number should be a great big ZERO. With more organizations like this one, and greater support from the government and private citizens, then maybe more can be done to help these hurting children.
Visit the site, www.childhelpusa.org and consider making a donation or volunteering to help out in some other way. Get in touch with your government representatives and tell them that the money currently being wasted by this administration should be going to more worthy causes, such as this one and so many others.
Just decided to start a new journal since the other one hadn't been used in so long. I found this one on Bravenet and though it looked pretty good. Hopefully I'll be able to post more often than I did before.
Right now I'm looking for any suggestions that people might have to improve my website. I'd considered totally redoing the entire, which I might still do. I had been using Frontpage and now with all the pics and things, it's getting harder to just log onto the administartion system and make small changes. Frontpage was easy when I was first starting out, but now that I want to do more that program is definitely limiting me.
So, if any has visited the site and would like to make suggestions, feel free.
Next up I'll most likely be complaining about politics. I want to think on that for a bit since it's such a hot topic. I know that no matter what I say on that, somebody will be offended or upset.
So that's it for now.
